Why Are Standards So Important?

Verify Brand has always believed that serialization standards are vitally important. In fact, we helped establish the EPCIS standards that have become global standards for exchanging transaction messages. Every time GS1 updates its EPCIS standard (currently 1.2), we make the necessary platform enhancements to support the most recent version of EPCIS.

These enhancements enable Verify Brand to seamlessly manage and support any connections your trading partner has, so partner integrations are efficient and reliable. Check out our video to learn why Verify Brand’s solution architect, Ron Watkins, cautions that if your serialization software provider doesn’t support all versions of EPCIS, your ability to meet compliance timelines may be in jeopardy.

Ask your current enterprise vendor (or vendors you’re currently evaluating) whether they leverage EPCIS for their partner integrations. More importantly, don’t accept a simple “yes.” Make sure they can provide supporting evidence, so you don’t get locked into integrations that can’t evolve with your serialization needs.
